Mill Creek Drive: N. Fork Rogue River Bridge
Start Date: June 2012
End Date: September 2012
This project was notable because of location: the bridge spans one of the most scenic – and dangerous – of the Class V rapids along Oregon’s legendary Rogue River – the beginning of a run known as the Avenue of the Boulders in Jackson County. Hamilton was chosen from a short list of contractors who pre-qualified for the project given the extreme challenge of the site. Hamilton put its extensive historic bridge renovation skills to good use on this circa 1930’s concrete arch structure. Work included replacement of failing concrete rail with precast rail and deck widening with new cast-in-place overhang brackets, a silica fume overlay, and new retaining walls on both ends of the bridge.
