Project Description

Yaquina Bay Bridge

Newport, Oregon

Start Date: October 2011
End Date: March 2013

oregon_newportHamilton Construction was the general contractor selected to provide steel repairs and bearing replacements on this historic Conde McCullough-designed bridge built in the late 1930’s as a Civilian Conservation Corp (CCC) project. Other major elements of work included painting and cathodic protection. The Yaquina Bay Bridge is an arch bridge that spans Yaquina Bay south of Newport, Oregon. It is one of the most recognizable of the U.S. Route 101 bridges—and serves as the gateway to both the Mark Hatfield Marine Research Center and the Oregon Coast Aquarium.
